The Borough of Emmaus has recently received increasing complaints about train noise at night. We have collected information from Norfolk Southern regarding necessary steps and costs to possibly establish a quiet zone in the Borough between certain hours at night. If a quiet zone was established, trains would no longer blow their horns / whistles at night. However, there is a significant cost that is associated with this. This survey is designed to measure and gauge the community's interest to possibly pursue this idea, given the information and facts that we have received to date. Thank you for taking your time to do this survey, as it will give Borough Council a feeling as to where the community stands on this topic.
